Tires - if yours are more than 6 years old replace them NOW - here's why - I bet you didn't know this... I didn't...

- - - tires that are older than 6 years need to be replaced
even if visually they appear perfect
- - - - replace them anyway - they will blow and cause death...
it's happening all over the USA - - - many people losing their
families and loved ones on older tires that appeared in perfect
condition...

the 6 years refers to manufactures date - NOT whether or not
the tire has been used for 6 years...

here's how to determine WHEN your tire was manufactured...

look on the tire near the rim
you will see some numbers after the letters DOT

if there are four numbers - the first two are the week of manufacture
and the last two are the year of manufacture

if there are only three numbers
- those are OLDER tires - and the last digit is the year
example:
if the number is 159
the 9 refers to the year 1999

this relates to ALL tire brands...

I heard about this on the CBS Evening News - Thursday 5-27-05

surely your loved ones are worth MORE than the cost of new tires...
replace those old tires... please be smart... and stay safe...
